The steak house was awarded “Best Newcomer” its first year open. The California Restaurant Association also voted Tahoe Joe's "Best Steak" as well as "Best Casual Themed Restaurant" and "Best Dessert". The Fresno Bee also rated Famous Steakhouse four stars. The California Restaurant Association again voted Tahoe Joe's "Best Family Dining" and the "Friendliest Service". Neighbors Publication awarded Tahoe Joe's "The Best Dinner" and "The Best Steakhouse".
At Famous Steakhouse the dress is casual and prices moderate. Tahoe Joe’s does not take reservations, because they seat their guests in order of arrival. They even have online takeout where you can place your order online and pick it up at any of their nine locations.
